Our first product was a Helium-Speech Unscrambler (helium radio) for the
U. S. Naval Experimental Diving Unit
(NEDU) that was an integral part of their Tethered Diver Communications System (TDCS) in their saturation diving simulation
facility at Panama City, Florida.
This was the first helium speech unscrambler to incorporate active noise reduction
for attenuating gas-flow noise. Commercial helium radios incorporating that design have been the standard in underwater
communications for the last decade.
Since then, advances in digital signal processors have led to superior dive intercom designs, by
Hydrolinx Diving Communication, that provide unmatched performance today.
All Hydrolinx air and helium radios are digital devices that feature both inhalation noise reduction and background noise reduction.
